I was halfway through a packet of salt and vinegar crisps when I realised how much the lingo has shifted. The bingo sayings UK 2026 full calls and phrases guide is not just a nostalgic trip. It is a practical tool for anyone stepping into a bingo hall or logging into an online lobby this year. The calls are the heartbeat of the game. Without them, you are just staring at numbers.

Let me be honest. I used to think the old calls like “Kelly’s Eye” were a bit daft. But then I played a session at 888 Bingo last week, and the chat room was buzzing with people shouting “Legs Eleven” and “Two Fat Ladies”. It added a layer of fun that a silent auto-daub game just cannot replicate. So, whether you are a seasoned player or a newbie trying to decode the caller, this guide is for you.

Some calls have stuck around for decades. Others get retired because they are outdated or offensive. The bingo sayings UK 2026 full calls and phrases guide includes a mix of the classics and some fresh additions that reflect modern culture. For instance, number 69 is still “Anyway Up Yours” (it always makes me smirk), but number 9 is now sometimes called “Cat’s Eyes” instead of the old “Doctor’s Orders”.

From what I’ve seen, the biggest change is around numbers that had problematic references. Number 88 is now widely called “Two Fat Ladies” but some halls have swapped it for “Two Great Grannies”. It is a small tweak, but it keeps the game inclusive. You will still hear “Clickety Click” for 66 and “Droopy Drawers” for 89 though. Some things never change.

Here is a breakdown of the most common calls you will encounter in UK bingo halls and online rooms this year. I have grouped them by number to make it easier to follow along during a game.

Using them to your advantage is another. When you play online bingo at sites like Betway Bingo or LeoVegas Bingo, the chat room is often filled with players shouting out the calls as they appear. If you know the calls, you can react faster. You can also join in the banter, which makes the game more social.

Here is a tip that a veteran player shared with me. If you are playing a 90-ball game and the caller shouts “Top of the Shop” for 90, that means the game is almost over. Do not get distracted. Focus on your tickets.
